Teaching Teaching Philosophy Innovative Project Related Activities Teaching Experience

My undergraduate experience at the University of North Carolina at Asheville was phenomenal. The University supported and encouraged undergraduates to be lifelong learners and to conduct their own research. More influential than that was my being part of a department with a love of teaching and learning that was challenging and encouraging. My professional goal is to become a professor in a program that has similar values, and to provide to new undergraduates what I was so fortunate to receive.
To prepare myself for a faculty position at an institution that values teaching and research equally, I am pursuing UGA's Certificate in Interdisciplinary University Teaching in addition to my doctoral degree in Ecology. The Certificate program has been invaluable to my development as an instructor, and I have highlighted here some of my related coursework and teaching activities.
