ENG: Asynchronous USB operations as a non-directionality way of sending data over a USB connection. What that means is it makes a peripheral device (here the DAC) act as a master device, and turning a computer into slave that pushes the data only when requested by the DAC. Or you could say it the other way around, the DAC pulls the data out of the computer whenever it needs it. Because of that, the oscillating DAC clocks performance is not constrained or in any way limited by the computer. It is truly the quality of the clock placed locally in the DAC that matters. Still there can be introduced jitter to the signal if the USB lead used is not optimal, due to signal loss along the way to the DAC. Also the quality of USB output on the computer matters, if it already inside have received a good amount of jitter due to little shielding or a hard disc spinning and doing other things than just playing music. SSD hard discs are much better to not introduce jitter and so is players like Audirvana that loads the whole track to your RAM before playing it. The quality of the power supply inside the DAC also makes a big difference and so does the analogue section of the DAC. Asynchronous is the so far best way to play music via USB, but still think about: * USB cables used have to transfer at at least 90Ohm to ensure perfect signal. * A computer build with proper internal shielding. * Harddiscs need to be close to idling or SSD to not introduce jitter to the rest of the system * A software player that can load into RAM before playing * Enough RAM to load the whole track in * A DAC with preferable linear power supply for steady power to both DAC and Clock * A well build analogue stage DAN: Asynkron USB fungere som en ikke-retningsbestemt made at sende data via en USB-forbindelse.
