 Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On November 14th, 2012 at Queensland, Australia a rare astronomical phenomenon - a total solar eclipse will be observed.
Traditionally, Astronomical Observatory of Odessa National University arranges expeditions in order to observe the solar eclipses with the aim to perform important scientific researches. These expeditions involve both professional astronomers and astronomy amateurs from Canada, Russia, Ukraine and other countries.
The list of our expeditions starts from the 1980-s and the latest expeditions we have had were in French Polynesia in 2010, in China in 2009, in Russia in 2008 etc. Please familiarize yourself with our achievements here.
Our expedition’s articles and our photo and video materials are well know and published in different public magazines, scientific journals, in commercial, public and news TV programs etc. The latest example – we were shown on French TV in July 2011 on atoll HAO in French Polynesia and Tahiti, popularizing the solar eclipse expeditions for astronomy lovers and tourists around the Globe. In addition, after each expedition we tend to produce popularized professional film about the expeditions and those movies are shown on national TV’s, distributed by DVD’s and over the Internet.
