Book Reports:

 

A book report is due every Monday morning. This should include a complete four square organizer and a 5 paragraph essay.

 

 

Spelling:

 

Spelling words are given on Monday morning. There will be 15 class words and 5 self-selected words. The self-selected words should be words that the student has difficulty spelling or wants to learn for that week. The homework is always as follows:

  Monday - put the words in alphabetical order and write each  

                 word 3 times.

  Tuesday - define the first 10 words of the alphabetical list.    

                 The dictionary guide words need to be included and 

                 the definition should be written in their own words.

  Wednesday - define the last 10 words.

  Thursday - choose 10 words and write sentences with them.

                   Study for Friday's test.

  Friday - Use the week's words in a short story.

 

Math

 Math homework will be given every night. The Homelinks book pages will be given by lesson number (6.12 means unit 6 lesson 12) and unless otherwise noted the homework will include a homelinks page each night.

 

 

Current Events

Beginning in March current events homework will be given each week. To complete the homework you will choose and article from a newspaper or magazine that interests you. You will inlcude a short summary of the article in a paragraph and a paragraph explaining why you chose this article. You will be asked to hand in this assignment every Friday.
