The Parochial Church Council The PCC is the Parochial Church Council which meets about 4 times a year, consisting of a few village people*, not all of them regular church goers, whose remit is to keep the fabric of our churches going and give support to the rector for Church Services. Our work to maintain the fabric of the Churches is aided by the generous donations from villagers for which we are very thankful, as we receive no financial assistance otherwise. The Parochial Church Council is concerned with the Church of England Churches, St Michael's and All Saints, and the Astons Burial Ground in the Croft. Liaison is maintained with the United Reformed Church and combined services are held from time to time. Members of the PCC organise rosters of volunteers to read the lessons and act as sidesmen, to clean the Churches to arrange flowers in the Churches, to mow the grass and to provide refreshments after services. Any volunteers to share these activities are always welcomed! Contact theastonspcc@googlemail.com. We are always looking for donations to assist in the upkeep of our beautiful churches and these will be gratefully received. *The PCC members are Tim Lake, Christopher Hawker, Vivien Biggs, George Curtis, Ian Wishart, Emma Oakley and Biddy Hawker.
