Another moment in my investigations of time and movement. The surface of water is so poignant and yet so ephemeral for me... I've been meaning to add a personal note on my recent images and this one is as good as any in capturing where my mind is these days... I am in the throes of FINALLY writing my graduate thesis book for my masters of architecture degree. I am ashamed to note that it's taken me nearly 20 years to get back to it. Life got in the way. It's due at Cornell on May 18th. I find that with all of the intellectual cache going into the book that I don't have a lot left over to roam the world of Flickr. Please know that I do take time to peruse your streams, it's just that I don't feel as if I am connected to the works in the way I prefer...so I don't leave any words...I will one day soon. Another sad collateral victim was my Large Format class this Spring...there just wasn't enough time to fit it in and give it the attention it deserves. I am going to explore a bit with my used Sinar F1, but I imagine there won't be much to show until the end of May... Ah life, you are a tempest and a charlatan and still I love you...

Dr. Stroupe came from San Jose State University where he directed the university’s eCampus and earned his Ph.D. in American Literature and Rhetoric from Florida State University in 1994. At the same time, Stoupe was working for the literary magazine Sundog: The Southeast Review. He has a Master’s degree in creative writing, which, in addition to rhetoric and information design, enables him to bring a diverse set of disciplines to his teaching. Currently teaching: Literacy, Technology, and Society; Web Design and Digital Culture; and New Media Writing.
