I actually pay $25 dollars per month for a UPS store mailbox just so I can avoid potential problems by not having to use my real address on anything. I avoid checking the mail because it's mostly just a bunch of junk telling me I owe everyone money. Today was the first day I checked my mail in a month. I generally sort through it and throw almost everything on the floor that will ultimately get recycled. I guess I'm techy because I pay my bills online; I don't need most of the junk that comes in the envelope. Among the items today included a $381 dollar traffic ticket courtesy notice for running a red light last month (actually yellow!), a notice my electricity will get turned off 2 days ago, past due student loans for a bachelors degree in audio engineering (I currently work in emergency spill response, totally unrelated to the previously mentioned degree), a $10 gas bill (the only thing that is gas powered in my apartment is the heater that I've never turned on), an overdue cable bill for cable I canceled (and paid) 3 months ago, and a cool notice telling me how my health insurance premiums are going up for 2009.
