The 443 residents of the Assaria community indeed consider their small town "home."  Located in Saline County, Kansas, the rural community of Assaria is a part of the Salina Micropolitan Statistical Area.  It's heritage derives from the Swedish immigrants that homesteaded the land surrounding the area.  The municipality was established in 1886.

For a great dining experience, the Renaissance Cafe located on the east side of the old high school. The building is also the home of Great Plains Manufacturing.  Located three miles south you can enjoy a quiet weekend camping at the Lakeside RV Park.  The Sunny Side Pumpkin Patch  provides  fall activities for the youth of the area.
