It has been a long time since our last newsletter. However, this doesn’t mean that you have been forgotten. Indeed, as always, in our Congregation’s custom, you and your family have been part of our daily prayers.
The Congregation is grateful for all the support that you, our benefactors have continued to show through monthly sponsorships and garage sales.
In 2009, the fundraising has enabled the completion of our new school in Ilo-ilo. This new venture has been a long time in coming and adds to the Congregation’s ministry to help families in our care with the education of their children.
April of this year saw a special event for those benefactors and friends who were able to travel to Sydney. As a group, a pilgrimage was organized to visit the grave site of Blessed Mary Mac Killop who will become the first Australian Saint.
This short, but joyful, weekend, was a great opportunity for all to pray for those special intentions that occupy the hearts of the faithful. No doubt, Blessed Mary Mac Killop will not forget the love each of you have for the children of God who so need to be taken care of.
Our sisters are well aware of the pain and concern that families carry. We are also aware of the faith in God each has as shown through prayer and acts of charity. I am sure that the continued support for our own missions will not go unrewarded from God who knows of the sacrifices made.

Mothers Day Stall
A big THANK YOU to all who helped Sr.Anna with the Mothers Day Stall.
This day was a great day but only made possible by the many who came along and helped with the selling of items.
The children of St.Bernadette’s Primary School went away very satisfied with the gifts that were bought—and there were many gifts to choose from!
Welcome to Sr.Cresilda who has been transferred from our community in the Philippines to take up ministry here, in Australia. Sr.Cresilda will be living with our sisters in Avondale Heights, however there will be many occasions that she will be in North Sunshine to help in whatever ministry is available to her .
All roads lead to Rome...
Sr.Ninette, who was previously the mission contact for us, is now in Rome.Sr Ninette was elected to the General Council. She holds the position of General Councillor and General Secretary. This posting is for 6 years and one very different to the what she was involved in here, in Australia.Despite this big change in ministry, she is enjoying the new job and she especially enjoys driving to our communities—even if the drivers may not be as ‘disciplined’ as we are in Australia. |
