Tagged How's this for a shot up the nose. Sorry, but i'm looking in the right direction. i'm not bald yet, but this angle is a good preview of the look in years to come, God willing. Tagged by a cherished contact Emma Lagunday with these instructions: This is how it goes. List 10 things that your friends may or may not know about you, but that are true. Tag ten people . Post a picture in your stream with the 10 facts and list your tagged people :) These are the ten....(only if you want to do it of course). visiblejoy wooze66 MayBKnott Kiki FL rosy outlook dancing daisy lumiere Strength From Above billy w St Groovus Maximus I was very active as a kid. Still am, I guess. By the time I finished High School I had broken each arm twice and various other bones as well. One of my Mother’s (with Jesus ,now) favorite stories on me was in filling out the Parent’s portion of my college application under medical remarks she wrote “He broke four arms”. I wondered why they were looking at me so funny on arrival for my Freshman year, (freak). I don’t have a TV or computer at home. As a result, sometimes a get mesmerized by the images when I see one. There’s a wide screen TV at the gym on the wall that a person on a treadmill must face. One day I was doing speed intervals; running quite fast. Do I need to finish the story or have you already figured out that I stopped running, was fired across the room like a bullet, and land upright but stunned, before I knew what happened. Good, cause that would be embarrassing to have to tell that story. For those of you who said “Aw, bless his heart” followed by, ”Dang, I wish I could have seen that”, take heart. There are cameras in the gym so I’m sure someday you will see the whole episode on the “World’s dumbest treadmill runners” segment. I thought I might never stop smoking. The power to do so seemed beyond me. Over the years I had made many justifications about why it was “OK” to continue. I had kind of casually asked for the Lord’s help many times, but never poured my heart into it. One day several years ago I did. I asked the Lord to show me a compelling reason, beyond the obvious for me to quit. In a flash he reminded me that two children in Church were praying me - That the Lord would give me the strength to quit. That “revelation” hit me like a bolt of lightning. Soon after, I told those children that the Lord had answered their prayer and thanked them for their faithfulness. About a month after that I ended up on my first overseas mission. They asked on the application if I would be willing to preach. I graciously declined only to learn that once you have committed to mission work, the Lord is in control and your (former) comfort zones have evaporated. It was a small Church but packed. Fortunately, I had an interpreter which gave me time to re-compose after each break. I didn’t pee my pants but that doesn’t mean I didn’t want to! (Beatitude of the missionary: Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape). My dog lived to be 20. He holds the record for putting up with me longer than any human ever made it. I know I am nothing without Jesus. A friend of mine delights in the partial quoting thereof; “You are nothing..” Where would we be without Christian brothers and sisters to uplift our spirits? Is that 10 yet? I think I hear Proverbs 17:28 calling, so believe I’ll end here. Blessings! 26/52 Imagine rolling hills of green, a light breeze with 70 degrees, and birds chirping in happiness....
that's what I dream of while running on the treadmill, which faces the basement walls. With the help of my Twilight CD blaring on high volume, I managed to eek out 3.3 miles. it hurts to put the nose to the grindstone, but I'm 6 weeks into running again and my percentage rate is pretty good!! I run M-F 5 days each week and I've only missed three days in those 6 weeks. two to travel at spring break. I'm finally getting back up to speed. though i will say that my knees are hurting..... :) no pain, no gain baby. running keeps me sane, and I'm just realizing how much i have missed it over the last 3 years :) promised myself I'd complete a marathon by the time I was 40, so I need to pick it up a notch *wink* maybe a half- marathon...... oh, and I'm half-way through 52 weeks. nose to the grindstone.
