Current Research:

I am currently working on an honors thesis under Robert Josephs and Timothy Loving as my faculty advisors. The goal of this project is to investigate the link between hormones, specifically testosterone and cortisol, and romantic relationship functioning during positive and negative discussions. This study provides a wealth of data including hormonal profiles, self-rated personality, partner-rated personality, attachment, relationship satisfaction, language use, and change in hormone levels following the discussion. I am particularly interested in whether an individual’s testosterone and cortisol levels predict relationship satisfaction. Further investigation will include how hormonal profiles are related to partner personality ratings and language use during a positive or negative discussion with one’s partner.

I am also working on a project under faculty advisor
Samuel Gosling and graduate advisor Lindsay Graham. The purpose of this project is to investigate romantic intention (e.g., casual sex, dating, a relationship, or marriage) and person perception in the snap-judgment context of speed dating. We are interested in whether perceived similarity between speed-daters is influenced by romantic intention or level of attraction.
