MARINE ANTI SIPHON VALVE. PNEUMATIC RELIEF VALVES. Marine Anti Siphon Valve
The Vega circa 1976 What a colorful time in history! This dayglo Vega 3-speed manual shift was my "conservative" replacement for The Thing. This was also the time of gas rationing, and so the new Vega came with an anti-siphoning device in the gas tank. That worked great ... until the new ecological pumps came out that were supposed to contain all vapors while filling up. They would not work with the Vega's gas tank. At the same time, full service stations were disappearing and I simply could not get any gas into this thing. This could be Hollywood and Vine, we went there a lot to shop at The Broadway (this HAD to be with Mom, because she's the only oen who took my picture all the time). Sporty MItsubishi
This replaced the Vega. After 9 years of dayglo orange, finally not being able to get gas into the anti-siphoning gas tank at the new-age self serve stations was too hard a life. This was a very sporty car and tremendous fun. The dark blue was fatal though -- on my new car's first birthday, it got totaled. I got sandwiched between two big cars while stopped at a light on Lankershim. I never bought a blue car ever again, they seem to be invisible to other drivers.
