The Stagg EDB electronics are of unknown manufacturer (possibly Belcat) and comprise two piezo elements with internal level trim pots for each element, external volume and sub bass controls and two minijack sockets, one for headphones output and one for audio input (for plugging in an mp3 player type device) It is powered by 9v battery and has a 1/4" jack socket for output to an amp. The electronics shielding by the factory is woeful and totally inadequate, causing hum problems. This is easily fixed, requiring some aluminium or copper tape, scissors or modelling knife, crosshead screwdriver, and optionally a soldering iron and small length of wire. First, remove the battery to prevent the electrics from letting the smoke out. Remove the electronics control plate and the long plastic back cover from the rear of the instrument. You will probably find a feeble attempt at foil shielding inside the cavity underneath the long cover. I removed it all to do the job properly.
