We rented a bucket lift and we weren't afraid to use it. Unfortunately, we couldn't because a clause in the Expo's insurance policy stipulated only licensed lift operators could operate the lift. The Expo assigned us one of their maintenance crew who had a little trouble understanding what we wanted to do. Thankfully, one of the Vermont cavers also had a license and was able to translate caver-speak into ops-speak.

the NYPD have brought in an observation booth / command center that elevates on a scissor lift. the windows are tinted; the mobile C&C is well equipped with things that can easily make searing light and sound.
