We have an exciting opportunity for North Ridge. March 14-18th our artist-in-residence, Bryant Holsenbeck,  will be making wire and fabric sculptures with the fifth the graders.

Here is how you can be a part of this fantastic experience.

You can collect and donate supplies like plastic grocery bags, yarn, and thin fabric or sheets that can be torn into long strips. Just get these supplies to school and I will have three boxes outside my room that you or your child can place them in.

You can prepare materials. The yarn needs to be in balls so they can be easily unwound. The fabric needs to be cut into long strips. These jobs can be done at home, but need to be finished by the 14th at the latest.

You can learn how to make these sculptures, so that you can help teach the kids.

Here are the important dates:

All  raw supplies must be in by the 11th, so that we can prepare them.

The sculpture training will be in the art room Monday March 7th from 3:00-6:00. Come anytime, at 3:00, 4:00 or 5:00. Bring your kids too.

Mrs. Holsenbeck will be here 14th, 15th, 16th 17th . I will send you an hourly schedule as soon as I have it. If you like you can send me the times that you are available that week.

f you are interested go back to my home page and fill out the contact form. That will send me an email telling me you want to help. Make sure you include your name and how you  plan to assist.

Thanks,

Slater Mapp
