News May 2011 - Ineke van den Berg received the Pruimenbloesemprijs 2011. Reason for granting the prize was her thesis. In awarding this prize, the Dutch patients associaton for acupuncture (NPVA) supports people who added a special contribution to the development of acupuncture in the Netherlands and thus contribute to improve health care.

Ineke van den Berg, PhD, is a licenced acupuncturist and herbalist, physiotherapist, and holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology. She has practiced as a physiotherapist and shiatsu therapist for more than 30 years and as an acupuncturist and herbalist (Chinese Herbal Medicine) for 22 years, with a special interest in obstetrical problems and complex pain disorders as CRPS type 1. She has an extensive number of contacts among acupuncturists, including contacts in China and the USA. As post-doc, she works in the department of Epidemiology & Radiology of the Erasmus University MC, Rotterdam. In addition, she supervises and works in her own private clinic for Complementary Medicine ‘Rodenrijs‘ (www.praktijkrodenrijs.nl)
