What can I sell at the Art Flea KC Market?

Some suggestions are screened t-shirts, handbags, jewelry, handmade cards, crafts, glass items, cool vintage finds...anything unique that would make great gifts ranging in price from $1 to $50. You may bring a FEW items over $50 but no more than 10% of your goods can be over $50. Also make sure that your items are appropriate for a family viewing audience.

What does it cost to have a booth at the Art Flea KC Market?

$25 for a 6ft x 10ft booth space (relative size some are a bit larger and some vary in length and depth). Please note that if you pay on the morning of the day your want to rent a booth, the fee is $30.  You can arrange your space however you want.   You can buy two booths next to each other if you let us know several days in advance.

ONLY vendors renting monthly are guaranteed the same booth every week.  Monthly rental fees are due on the first day of each month.

How do I become a vendor?

Fill out an application and send it along with a picture of your work to info@artfleakc.com Then pay your booth fee using one of the methods below.(Don't let a picture hold up your application, but we do want pictures to help market the event.)

Who handles the money for sales?

You do.  You are the merchant and you must bring small bills and coins to accommodate change for sales.  You decide if you want to take checks and credit cards.

What is included in the booth fee?

We market the event and provide mini flyers and email announcements to you to market to your audience.  We have many 6 and 8ft. tables and folding chairs for you to use but it is on a first come first serve basis.  Electricity is available in many areas, but must be requested and is on a first come first serve basis. Restrooms are located just outside of the gallery space.  We do have a freight elevator for load in.

What should I bring besides my items for sale?

A tablecloth to cover an 8ft. table, business cards, bubble wrap and plastic bags to wrap up your sales, any easily mobile display racks you need, lunch, bringing a friend to sell stuff for you while you are using the restroom or getting lunch is always nice.  Don’t forget to bring money to make change and if you are credit card equipped remember to request electricity or bring the manual card swiper.  Remember to price your items. If it is not priced most people will walk away.

What should I expect at the first Art Flea KC Market?

Smoking is only allowed outside the building.  Restrooms are on the same floor as the gallery.

Why can I only price my items under $50?

Let’s face it; it’s been a rough couple of years economically.  We don’t care if you call this a recession or not; it’s getting much harder to sell expensive art. We are not asking you to drastically reduce the price of your artwork, we are artists too.  You probably have some cool thing you like to make that only takes 20 minutes and uses recycled materials.  Besides we all have closets and drawers full of art we made over the years that never sold.  Sell the overstock and make room for more artwork.  Also note that we would like to see cool vintage stuff also.  Just keep object size reasonable; if it doesn’t sell you will have to take it home with you.  You may bring a few premium items but no more than 10% of your goods may be priced over $50.

Can I leave my display racks and art there until next week?

No, sorry.  We rent out the space to help pay the bills.  It’s not necessary to go overboard with your displays – remember it’s a flea market.  Try making display racks out of cardboard boxes and draping a piece of fabric over the top. Cheap, light and you can transport your goods inside the boxes.

But we do have a dock, a freight elevator, a great strong help for loading in and out.
