Tani Hamagishi-Allen

Beginning in November 2008, Hamagishi-Allen has been developing a series titled, Porcelain Dolls. Since culmination of this theme she has exhibited the works in Vancouver, Victoria and throughout mid-Vancouver Island. This body particularly speaks of Hamagishi-Allen’s fascination with simplicity. She finds herself critical of any materialistic tendencies found within her. She admires minimalism and assumes there must be a feeling of peace when living amongst very little. She feels that she is perpetually being pulled from realizing such a state in her everyday life and, instead strives to achieve this in each piece of her art.
