A nice British lunch
A nice British lunch
I decided to go with some traditional fried food. I can actually get fish and chips at home in New York, but felt I should eat it here at least once! Also, Dave didn't think I'd find the Italian food worth my while, and I didn't feel quite hungry enough for steak pie (or adventurous enough for kidneys or whatever the other stuff was!). For some reason, I found that most places in Scotland don't offer free napkin access. Dave thought it was funny that this bothered me (and that I squirreled away various paper goods when presented with the opportunity). He feels that Americans are obsessed with napkins. But, I can't help it if I instinctually want to wipe my mouth (or occasionally, my nose) after I eat! ;)

I have to admit that this brown sauce was not *quite* as good as the other one I'd had. The white sauce was pretty good though, and the salt and pepper added a little zest to the veggies. It was nice that they let you take as many packets of condiments as you like; napkins too. For some reason, I found that most places in Scotland don't offer free napkin access.
