    MAYOR CUPCAKE (writer) -- 2010.   Wrapped production  in Rehoboth Beach and Bridgeville Delaware in September and is now in post. This family dramedy stars LEA THOMPSON  as Mary Maroni, a mother pressed into service as the mayor of Bridgeville who must use all her wiles to change the direction the town's taken while keeping her family and job as top cupcake baker as the main priorities in her life.  Ms. Thompson's two daughters Maddy, 18, and Zoey, 14, (in photo w/ Mom Lea and her top director dad, Howard Deutch) play her movie daughters in the film which also stars Judd Nelson as Donald Maroni, Dorian Harewood as Albert and Frankie Faison as Lenny.   Alex Pires produced and directed.  Read an article about the movie here:  Mayor Cupcake                                                                                                                           (photo: Delaware Online)

    •  THE FINAL SEASON (writer) -- 2007.  Sean Astin, Powers Boothe,  Rachael Leigh Cook, Tom Arnold, Michael Angarano.  Directed by David Mickey Evans (THE SANDLOT),  TFS hit 1,100 theaters in October 2007 and is now available everywhere on DVD.  Check out this heartwarming family film based on the true story of an Iowa high school baseball team playing for their 20th state title in the face of great adversity.   TFS also now airs on the Encore network.   Visit The Final Season Website   




    SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY (writer) -- 2007.   Melinda Clarke ("The OC") and Krista Bridges ("Narc") (pictured right with Art on the set in  Toronto, Canada).   This TV movie continues to air on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network, after premiering on Lifetime.  SDMC tells the story of two estranged sisters who reunite for a road trip that takes them to a place they thought was gone forever.  Airs on Lifetime Movie Network and LMNHD.  Next airing on Dec. 5, 2009.  Check your local listing for times.     SMDC Trailer

     

    Indie thriller BURNED (aka ZZYZX) (writer/co-producer) -- 2006.   Stars THE SHIELD and SAVING GRACE's Kenny Johnson, Robyn Cohen, Ryan Fox and Kayo Zepeda, and is now available via Netflix and Amazon.com.   BURNED won the Miami Independent Music and Film Festival and placed second in both the Central Florida Film Festival and the Fylmz Festival in Nashville.  This is a dark tale of death and deception in the Mojave desert.       •  THE MESS (writer/director) -- 2008.  Produced by NightFire Films and Dirty Martini Productions, THE MESS is a short film (23 1/2 min.) starring Rus Blackwell and Elizabeth Fendrick about what fate holds in store for a man who lets things like his messy home bother him too much.   THE MESS was the Gold Coast Award winner for excellence in filmmaking at the 2009 Hollywood East Film Fest in Connecticut and the April 2008 winner of Enzian's Film Slam.  An official selection of the Delray Beach  FF, Indie Fest USA, Charlotte Film Festival, Rappahannock Independent Film Festival, the prestigious Ft.
