Welcome to the first official website of Art by Denise Kanter Allen! Denise continually documents the progress in her artwork and would like to share it outside the studio in hopes to create a bigger audience outside of the Shenandoah Valley.
Please follow the links at the bottom of the page. But before your viewing pleasures begin, here is a little about the artist:
About the Artist
Denise Kanter Allen was raised in Pearisburg, Virginia, 20 minutes west of Virginia Tech.
Her creativity and vivacious personality emerged early in life and attributed to her participation in sports and multiple organizations.
Without any formal art training, Denise was accepted into the general fine arts program at James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, VA. She improved her artistic talent and discovered a style all her own. Along with her school work, she dedicated her time as Vice President of her art fraternity, Kappa Pi, and member of the community service group, Sigma Alpha Lambda.
Denise finished her final semester at James Madison University in May 2008, and graduated with a BFA in Studio Art, concentration in painting and drawing. She continues to live and work in Harrisonburg, Virginia and hopes to display more of her art in the Shenandoah community.
