With the 2012 Olympics in London and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, a third Olympics in Europe was simply considered to be too much. The last Spanish Olympics were in 1992 in Barcelona. Despite a personal appearance by President Obama of the USA, Chicago was eliminated first in a surprise move, reflecting underlying weaknesses in the city's bid. The shock of Chicago's elimination was greater for the fact that it came in the first round. And greater for the fact that President Obama had taken valuable hours from his packed and tense political schedule to travel to Copenhagen. Tokyo was eliminated in the next round, not a huge surprise as they were generally agreed to have the weakest bid. Rio de Janeiron (Brasil) izango dira 2016. urteko Olinpiar Jokoak. Gau majikoa, San Mameseko arnasaren eskutik eta hogeita bosgarren titulua eskuratzeko aukera azken finaletik ia mende laurden bat beranduago, 84/85 denboraldian Madrilen jokatu zena hain justu ere. Athletic Bilbao reached its first Copa del Rey final for 24 years on Wednesday and will play record 24-time champion Barcelona. Javi Martinez, Fernando Llorente and Gaizka Toquero scored within 37 minutes of the first half for 23-time champion Athletic to beat Sevilla 3-0 and advance 4-2 on aggregate. Fans flooded the field after the final whistle as Athletic reached its record 35th final.
"It was our game and we couldn't let the opportunity pass," Athletic coach Joaquin Caparros said. "It was impressive."
Wednesday 13 May 2009 WE COULDN'T WIN ! Four-star Barça claim Copa. Barcelona stayed on course for an historic treble by crushing Athletic Bilbao 4-1 at the Mestalla Stadium to lift the Copa del Rey for the first time in over a decade. Gaizka Toquero headed Bilbao into a ninth-minute lead, but Yaya Toure equalised with a great solo goal and then Barça blitzed their rivals with three goals from Lionel Messi, Bojan Krkic and Xavi in 12 minutes to lift the cup for the first time since 1998.

The Physical Education Department as well is taking part in the Multilingual Project offered by our High School. In fact, our 1st to 4th level students do have the chance of learning some subjects of their syllabus through english. Shortly, some more subjects in english will be offered in Batxilerato level, following the latest trend in our society in which plenty of High Schools are becoming involved in.
It was coach Pep Guardiola's first trophy as a manager and Barcelona's first piece of silverware in two seasons although the Spanish league title could soon follow with only a point needed at Real Mallorca on Sunday to secure a 19th championship. "We hope it's an historic week and we will go for the second title this weekend," said defender Gerard Pique. "We just want to enjoy this win first and then concentrate on trying to win more titles."
