ARLO WEEK

Like Shark Week, except without the sharks ....

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEXINGTON - Kerry O'Neill has announced that the week of May 2nd through May 8th, 2009 will be officially known as Arlo Week, in celebration of the Canadian Warmblood gelding London Calling ("Arlo"), who has been a patient and sanity-saving companion throughout O'Neill's 3 years of law school at the University of Kentucky College of Law. The week begins on Saturday with a day of grooming and a laid-back ride in the arena and culminates the following Friday, when Arlo turns 9 years old.

"I'm really pleased to be able to sponsor Arlo Week," said O'Neill, who  purchased Arlo in 2005 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and imported him to the United States. "He's really pretty awesome. I mean, he's not the fanciest thing in the world, but he's about as good as they come."

O'Neill is hoping that Arlo Week will attract the attention of corporate sponsors, as well as the general public, despite the fact that, unlike Shark Week, it will not be nationally televised. When asked about the criticism that Arlo Week will simply not be as exciting as Shark Week, O'Neill replied, "Clearly, you haven't seen Arlo eat. He's pretty aggressive to his food. One could even say shark-like. Also, sometimes he can be a jerk about picking up his left hind foot, so ... you know, there's an element of uncertainty and suspense there as well."

When asked about the fact that the final day of Arlo Week is the same day that O'Neill graduates from law school, O'Neill admitted that she was "going to have to work around it." "If I could bring him to the graduation ceremony, I would," she added. "But I think there might be some health code regulations that prohibit it."

Arlo Week promises to be a week-long celebration of Arlo and his awesomeness. A full schedule of events is available at the official Arlo Week website.
