The Rivera Lab - University of the Pacific

We are interested in the evolution of novel features, particularly nervous systems and sensory organs. 

To study this, we use tools from developmental biology, genetics, molecular biology and genomics to find out how tissues and gene regulatory networks evolve.

Our lab organisms include sponges and crustaceans.
