16 Things About Me- As a Consumer Gah! Got tagged to do another 16 things, not by one person, but two! Kinda makes it harder to blow off, especially when it is two women. What guy would say no to being tagged by two women. :P First, the strobist info: SB-800's shot through umbrellas both left and right, TTL, AWL trigger. Ok, now the list with a consumer twist. My parents once joked that I was their failed attempt at capitalism. I didn't show any of what they considered materialistic qualities. My choices were just different than what they would expect. So here you go: 1. I have a weakness for technical jackets. I have three hard shells, seven soft shells, four fleeces, one artificial insulate, one down vest and three down jackets. 2. Six Osprey bags, best bags..... ever! 3. Two down sleeping bags and two artificial fill. 4. Four pairs of Oakleys and two pairs of Dragons, which coincidentally use Oakley optics. 5. Three pairs of running shoes in current rotation. 6. Four pairs of Chaco Sandals, or was that five? :-S 7. One TV which I have had for years! It will be useless in February. 8. I don't have a sound system. 9. I have one mp3 player, and it isn't made by Apple! :-o 10. As interesting as I find the technology crammed into cellphones, I've had the same one for a few years now, SE W810i. I still haven't seen a replacement that I like. 11. Yeah, I've got some camera gear too! :P 12. One car, a Honda Element. It is the best car I've ever owned. I've owned two other cars and a truck before this. 13. I like to spend money on gas. Well, not really, but I do like to drive. A lot. It's theraputic. 14. I have a set of electric shears that I use to cut my own hair. #3 guard 15. I rarely spend more than $40 in a single trip to the grocery store. 16. I'm typing this up (and edited this photo) on my laptop, it's just a HP like you can find at any big box. essay3
At Bahr Creek, owner Bridgett DeMaster chooses to shear her llamas. Shearing is done much like sheep, with electric shearers. The raw hair is then sorted into guard hair which can be made into rope and other coarse materials, and down which is made into yarn. Debris like hay is picked out by hand. Bridgett then packages the fiber and sends it to a mill. At the mill the fiber is washed by hand then fed into a machine called a “carder”. The carder looks like a big brush and is used to align all the fibers and straighten them.
