Objectives and Goals of Coffee House

Our Middle School’s Coffee House provides delicious food and a positive atmosphere. The purpose of the Coffee Houses is to bring together the Arbor Community while supporting the Middle School microeconomy. Our goals are to

make the food even more nutritious, delicious, and satisfying. We would also like to invite our neighborhood community to our Coffee Houses.  We are planning to make $350 for each of the 7 Coffee Houses and profit close to $2,450 for the year. Through the microeconomy the students learn how to run and be part of a business. We develop skills, such as money management, customer service, work in the kitchen and all the other components that make up a successful business. All the students are involved in almost all aspects of the business, making it an interesting and complete learning experience.

Dr. Montessori believed that the adolescent should have the opportunity to participate in an environment that could translate to real life. She thought it would be good for them to have the experience of running a hotel like business such as Coffee House.
