- (Shear Studs) Shear studs are steel members (resembling a bolt) that are resistance welded through a steel floor deck to the supporting structural steel members prior to placing the concrete. These studs interlock the supporting steel beams with the concrete slab to create a composite beam.
- Headed shear connector specifically designed for use on a steel joist or beam, which permits composite action between concrete slab and joist or beam.

I've been fascinated by the empty abandoned copper works in Swansea, after such a hectic life, they've sadly been left to rot to the ground. I wanted to capture to shear raw, hard, rusting of the place up against soft, pale, fresh skin. The combination works well and highlights the building and the model, each in their own right.
