So, about this book...It’s not as instantaneously satisfying as his The Guinea Pig Diaries, but it’s deeper and it’s really making me think about the way I do things and the parts of my church that I agree/disagree with. I am really impressed with the job he’s doing — he’s honest and opinionated, but also careful to get both sides of a story before judging.

My favorite passage is this:
Pg. 80 -- Jacobs says: God, if He exists, is ordering everyone - not just those with a book contract - to travel back in time and try to experience the world of the ancient Middle East. God created 'immersion journalism,' as my friend calls it. Maybe God approves of my project after all.

I really liked this book because it kind of sucked me into his project; I found myself trying to live more Biblically, too. I saw a lot of rules that I would like to incorporate into my own life. I can already see a change in myself from reading this -- and although there are a lot of books that I love, there are hardly any that I can say that about.

Take another look at A.J. Jacobs' site for this book. He gives a lot more info on this book than he did on The Guinea Pig Diaries -- including the most interesting/crazy rules he followed and "how you too can live biblically" lol.

Here's a great video from MSNBC that's short and really good!! Please watch this video! It's only six minutes!

Also, here's a video of his speech about why he wrote this book at the Church of Berkeley (it's long but you could just listen to the first few minutes and get the point) -- according to this video, Paramount and Brad Pitt's production company are both bidding to make this book a movie!

The MSN video was interesting; I like how they started playing Eye of the Tiger when he was stretching and running lol.

If they still stoned adulterers... cheating wouldn't be so much of a concern... Just food for thought :P
