Individual Project : For this workshop you need to create a podcast series with 3 episodes . In each episode you will comment on the characterisitcs of a podcast you reviewed and provide some tips on how it can be used in class.The length of the episode has to be minimum 2 minutes. Your podcast needs to have a catchy name, a slogan, a picture and has to be published in a free platorm (e.g. podomatic) Group project: In groups of 3 . Select a recording from each member , do some editing to create a new podcast. Please bring a USB device to save information. Day 1. What is a podcast? What types of podcasts are availbale? What are some of the podcasts I can use in class? Tech topic hands on- Testing, testing . Recording a few ideas using Audacity. Booklet from p1- 16 Day 2. What assignments could I give my students when listening or watching a podcast? What is the format of my favorite podcasts? Lesson plans using podcasts. To get an idea of some of the activities using podcasts check the Learning Interchange page Small group work. Brainstiorm ideas of activities that students can be asked to do with the information in a podcast. Getting acquainted with Audacity, using tutorial online and published tutorial in PDF. Tech topic Hands -on .Recording my first podcast episode. Using the tips suggested in the manual record a brief mep3 file with suggestions for teachers. p.1-16 Publish your recording in Gcast. Create an account an upload your file. If there is time, try some of the music from garage band (link is in the Gcast page) to add a ice touch to your mp3 file. (podomatic) Day 5 Get in groups of 3 or 4 and select one of your podcast episodes to share with the members of your group. Get feedback . What can you improve? As a group, decide on the podcast episode you liked the most , Create another mp3 file mixing the files from each member and may be adding the role of a host presenting each of the audios.
