Clunk click Anyone who's ever restored a classic car that doesn't have seat belts will know what a pain it can be to get hold of an original looking set. Due to cost issues, it's impractical for the manufacturers to reissue new spec sets, so it's a matter of trawling autojumbles and, in more recent years, eBay for a decent set. And if you want a nice set of Kangols, they can set you back quite a few quid as well. Thankfully Felix the Mini came with silver-grey Britax Lyfe Lok belts, installed by Marshall's of Cambridge in the autumn of 1967. These can still be had for reasonable prices (this set cost me ?45) compared to the Kangols, though a NOS set of Lyfe Loks would attract interest. Unfortunately, one of the bottom halves of the original set is no more, and one of the top halves is fraying a bit, so I decided that a complete set would have to be found. I'd missed out once or twice before now, thanks to being outbid and having my wi-fi throw a wobbler just as I was about to bid, but I struck lucky eventually. It's just a matter of cleaning them up now, which shouldn't be too hard.
