The new iPhone made it out of the box, and setup/restore/synch went just fine. It even transferred over my 3-month-long Bookworm game, which was awesome. No yellow spots on the screen, no proximity sensor issues, and my volume buttons are in the right order. I've noticed some of the reception-dropping issues when I hold it in a certain way, but between a 4.01 update and a case, that shouldn't be a real problem. And yes, I'm in the "get a case and protect it" camp, versus the "it's too gorgeous to put it in a case" camp. How do you think my first-gen iPhone stayed as near-pristine as it is?
Hacking the Heart Spark with a proximity sensor
Hacking the Heart Spark with a proximity sensor
This is shown with the top 3 LEDs off when the proximity IR detects my hand. Hacking Eric Boyd's Heart Spark pendant, which pulses LEDs my heartbeat via my Polar gym chest strap transmitter. I've been experimenting with a proximity sensor to light up the top 3 LEDs on the Heart Spark. It's been very much trial and error to get it to work with various voltage supplies, so far I've tried a 3V coin and a AAA battery with a step up voltage component. It works best as seen in this image with a 4.4V supply from a variable mains adapter.
