About Us

What is Alpha Phi Omega?
Alpha Phi Omega is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The purpose of this fraternity is to assemble college students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop leadership, to promote friendship and to provide service to humanity; and to further freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage.

Alpha Phi Omega is the single most representative undergraduate intercollegiate organization in the United States of America. We take pride in this and want to be even larger. We determine to be larger only because, if what we are and what we represent are important and useful to students, then we should share what we have in order to further our common goals more effectively. We want to share with colleges and universities all across this great land the benefits that Alpha Phi Omega gives to students, their campuses and their communities.

We believe Alpha Phi Omega captures the best parts of the FRATERNITY ideals. FRATERNITY implies a common bond, a united army that can go anywhere and conquer anything. It is an alliance that is life long. This unselfish sharing of ideals, interests, successes and even failures is indeed what FRATERNITY is all about. And that is what Alpha Phi Omega is all about. Alpha Phi Omega's Fraternity principles are built on three pillars: Leadership, Friendship, and Service.

Leadership- "Today a learner, tomorrow a leader."
Alpha Phi Omega offers personal leadership development courses through our LEADS program. At the completion of the series of courses, you will have a set of transferable skills that are applicable to the work world and to other organizations.

Friendship- "The surest way to have a friend is be a friend."
Through shared experiences and an understanding of our Fraternity history and goals provide a basis for our national Brotherhood. Brotherhood is the spirit of friendship. It implies respect, honesty, and dependability. It means listening to our Brothers whose views differ from our own. Fellowship program provides opportunities for social interaction among all brothers. Fellowship programs range from parties, dinners, outdoor adventure, intramural sports, and informal gatherings.

Service- "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Mahatma Ghandi
Our Chapter Service program provides many opportunities for the development of social awareness. The large emphasis on Service programs helps make Alpha Phi Omega the unique fraternal organization that it is. The Fraternity has established four fields of service in which Chapters are involved in: Service to the Club, Service to the Campus, Service to the Community, Service to the Nation.
