Introduction

This document exposes a prevalent conspiracy, in the form of a cleverly edited photo, to portray Pope Benedict XVI as a young Priest allegedly performing a Nazi Salute.

Cropped Photo

This photo is used to show Benedict XVI performing a "Nazi Salute". Look at his left (your right) shoulder. You can tell from the angle of his shoulder his other arm is raised as well. Also look at his eyes. Where's he looking?

Original Photo

In the unedited photo you can see that the priests are performing a blessing on the congregation. There's nothing Nazi about it.

Action Taken

Below are some e-mails I've sent out to various websites hosting the obviously dishonest image. I will post responses as I get them

"Hello,

My name is Paul Swonger. I am writing you, as you are cited on the San Francisco Sentinel website as Editor and Publisher. There is a document on your website ( http://www.sanfranciscosentinel.com/?p=17519 ) that uses a carefully cropped image of Pope Benedict XVI in an attempt to portray him performing a "Nazi Salute".

I would like the photo removed, as it's blatantly obvious the image is edited for dishonest purposes. I have attached an unedited original (in color) should you wish to replace it with a more honest portrayal of the event taking place (a blessing). Your prompt written response is appreciated.
