Introduction

This document will serve as a listing of movie reviews and or recommendations, primarily surrounding the topic of Catholicism. Though I may be unable to personally review each and every film, I will be placing a list of recommended titles here. This document is still being constructed, so please come back soon. Recommendations

The 13th Day

Synopsis
Based on the memoirs of Sister Maria Lucia de Jesus dos Santos, and thousands of independent eyewitness accounts, The 13th Day is a dramatic retelling of the experiences of three shepherd children between May and October 1917.
A Man for All Seasons (1966)

Synopsis
The story of Thomas More, who stood up to King Henry VIII when the King rejected the Roman Catholic Church to obtain a divorce and remarriage. This film won six Oscars.
Becket (1964)

Synopsis
An English king (Henry II, not VIII) comes to terms with his affection for his close friend and confidant (Thomas à Becket), who finds his true honor by observing God's divine will rather than the king's.

The Bells of St. Mary's (1945)

Synopsis
Oscar winning film. At a big city Catholic school, Father O'Malley and Sister Benedict indulge in friendly rivalry, and succeed in extending the school through the gift of a building.
Going My Way (1944)

Synopsis
A new priest shows up at the parish of a crusty old priest named Father Fitzgibbon. The new man, Father O'Malley, must ingratiate himself with both the old man and his congregation. There are various ups and downs in their relationship but on the whole, it all seems to be going rather well. Then one night, the church burns to the ground.
