Purpose


If the question still remains of "What is Alpha Psi Lambda?"

We are pride, service, education, and unity! Alpha Psi Lambda believes it has several purposes. We believe in these purposes so strongly that they are clearly expressed in our constitution. 

We believe that Latinos/as must take a more active role in our communities. As the fastest growing segment of the population, we are in need of good leaders. This necessitates a continued progress and success.

Alpha Psi Lambda is an organization committed to fostering both leadership and communication skills. We are innovative in our pursuit of the participation in a wide variety of activities both on campus and community wide, so that we may be the pathfinders for others to follow.




Alpha Psi Lambda is the nations first Co-Ed Latino oriented fraternity. Since our beginning at the Ohio State University in 1985, we have provided moral and academic support for our members.

Alpha Psi Lambda provides the brothers and sisters with the experience to learn from one another and be enriched through friendships and bonds that are created. It allows for a lifetime of memories to be built and personal skills to be developed.


8 Goals and Purposes

1. Serve the university campus and community.
 
2. Bring forth on a scholastic level Hispanic/Latinos (as) and others at the university on the basis of friendship.
 
3. Provide a supplementary educational, social, and cultural experience for the mutual cultivation of its members.
 
4. Advocate for the needs and concerns of the Hispanic/Latino (a) students. 

5. Promote a basis for the diversity of the Hispanic/Latino (a) cultures. 

6. Enhance the educational experience through social and cultural activities, and assist in the development of members' leadership ability.

7. Promote inter-fraternity relations. 

8. Foster positive relations between the Greek System, University/College administration, and the outside community.
