The United World of America

Here in America, we thrive off the words that first defined us in The Declaration of Independence: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  We value the principles that our country was first built upon.  As we've grown as a nation, we've learned about what these words really mean, as we only allowed the existence of slavery for a couple of years, permitted children to work grueling hours for large sums of money, and kindly urged Japanese into internment camps that would enrich their lives during World War II.  Additionally, over the years, people have learned about what is truly important in our society through the American Dream and the idea of materialistic gain (especially during The Jazz Age).  America is also the home of some of the most idolized people in the world, such as iconic Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, Paris Hilton, and O.J. Simpson.  In terms of machinery, however, America stands well above the rest of the world.  American cars consistently rate amongst the most reliable and most trustworthy vehicles compared to those made around the world. America is also run by some of the most intelligent and respected people in all of society, such as George Bush, Mark Sanford, and Jim Gibbons. We have not only grown in our ideals, but we've grown in size, strength, and power.  These reasons alone make America the quintessential nation in which to live.  That's why, as a modest American concerned about the well-being of the rest of the world, I have a proposition.  I suggest that the United States of America takes over the rest of the globe in order to become the United World of America.

There are numerous advantages in my proposition, many of which will be beneficial to both original Americans and the converted Americans.  First of all, language barriers will no longer be a problem.  Once America takes kindly takes over the world, which everyone will accept without any opposition, we would make English the official language.  There are too many other languages that get in the way of English, which makes it hard for people of different nationalities to communicate.  This conversion to English would enrich the lives of people around the world, making it easier for people who reside in different areas to understand each other.  English is the easiest language to learn, so everyone would learn it in rather quickly.  The spelling is completely phonetic, so it would be easy for everyone to learn to read and write, and even easier to learn how to speak it! Lastly, this would bring people together emotionally, because everyone would have something in common.

Another advantage of the United World of America would be the practicality of being able to finally bring the rest of the world to use the feet and inches, as opposed to the metric system.  The metric system, although seemingly advantageous, is quite detrimental to Americans.  It causes confusion, especially among younger children.  When third grader Joseph Tate was asked about his opinion on the two systems, he replied confidently, "Well, obviously the feet and inches system is better.  Its American.  Its the only real way to measure." The use of only the feet and inches system would also be beneficial because it would raise mathematics scores in the younger grades.  Students would no longer be forced to learn different ways to measure, so they would only be tested on one way.  What an easy fix to such a serious problem!

Additionally, uniting the world and becoming one great nation would be advantageous because the world would be a safer place in which to live.  America would begin the plight to bring about international security by implementing democracy around the world.   Democracy is the most perfect way to govern a group of people, especially when the population of the U.W.A. would be over six billion. It would be painless -almost fun- to change the diverse governing bodies to the democratic system, because it is the best way to govern. There would be no complaints, no resistance from the residents around the world with the idea of rule by the people.  What a simple solution to the corruption of power around the world!  Also, when America takes over the world,  it would be safer because there would be no wars or fear of terrorism.  The idea of war would become non-existent because there would be no individual nations.  We would all be under one enormous American flag.  Consequently, there would be no need for different regions to go to war with one another.  There would be no need to gain land from anyone else, because everyone would exist under the same nation.  Also, because everyone would speak the same language and would be of the same culture, there would be no other cultures to attack.  The elimination of various cultures and nations would also take away any fear of terrorism. If everyone lived together in one giant country, there would be no need to injure other people.  We would all be together under one government, which would make everyone get along and want to keep peace with one another.

Creating one giant nation would also eliminate one problem that America faces today: immigration.  The elimination of borders would allow everyone to move freely across continents.  This would ameliorate the constant fight between parties about what to do about the large number of immigrants coming into America.  There would no longer be the question about what to do with illegal immigrants, because the idea of immigration altogether would be eliminated.  Additionally, the new America would benefit many of the third world countries and allow them to be supported.  These old countries, which are in extreme poverty, would benefit because the new nation would be morally obligated to help to develop this section of the world.  The new government would also implement plans for women to become educated in these areas and distribute necessary medical supplies and attention to children.

With these reasons considered, I believe that the only thing America can do is take over the world and become the United World of America.  It would benefit current Americans and those who are going to be a part of our great country.  It's undeniable that we live in the most powerful and most considerate nation in the world; why not spread our kindness across the borders that separate us?  We can make a positive difference in then lives of others if we only open our hearts and open the borders that separate countries.

The United World of America

Here in America, we thrive off the words that first defined us in The Declaration of Independence: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  As Americans, we value the principles in which our country was first built upon.  As we've grown as a nation, we've learned about what these words really mean, with the assertion of freedom of religion, the bloody war to end slavery, and the amendment that allows women to vote.  Over the years, people have learned about what is truly important in our society through the development of the American Dream.  Additionally, America is the home of some of the most idolized people in the world, such as iconic Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, and Miley Cyrus perhaps could add chris brown, paris hilton, or britney spears   -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:22 AM Don't forget OJ. -Josh Footlik 1/5/10 9:31 AM . In terms of machinery, however, America stands well above the rest of the world.  American cars consistently rate amongst the most reliable and most trustworthy carsi didnt mean to do this, but i like it. cars is repetitive as it was used twice in this sentence. .  America is also run by some of the most intelligent and respected people in all of society, such as George Bush, Mark Sanford, and Jim Gibbons Haha. -Josh Footlik 1/3/10 7:34 PM . We have not only grown in our ideals, but we've grown in size, strength , -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:25 AM  and power.

Once America takes over the world (in a kind manner, of course), we will make the official language English.  There are too many other languages that get in the way of English, which makes it hard for people to communicate.  This conversion to English would enrich the lives of people around the world, making it easier from change to "for" -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:30 AM  people who reside in different areas of the world to understand each other.  This change to "Lastly, it" just to change the way you start off the sentence  -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:31 AM  would also bring people together emotionally, because everyone would have something in common.

Another advantage of the United World of America would be the practicality of being able to finally bring the rest of the world to use the feet and inches, as opposed to the metric system.  The metric system, although seemingly advantageous, is quite detrimental to Americans.  It causes confusion, especially among younger children hahaha and me -Amy Kohler 1/6/10 8:18 AM .  When third grader Joseph Tate was asked about his opinion on the two systems, is the comma here needed? -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:35 AM  he replied, "Well, obviously the feet and inches system is better.  Its American.  Its the only real way to measure."

Additionally, uniting the world and becoming one great nation would be advantageous because the world would be a safer place to live.  America would begin by implementing democracy around the world.   Democracy is  "the" -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:36 AM most perfect way to govern a group of people, especially when the population of the U.W.A. would be over six billion.  It would be rather easy to change the diverse governing bodies to democracy, because it is the perfect way to govern.  There would be no complaints, no resistance, and no problems with the idea of rule by the people -doesn't flow Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:38 AM.  What a simple solution to the corruption of power around the world!  Also, when America takes over the world, there would be no wars or fear of terrorism.  The idea of war would become non existent because there would be no individual nations.  We would all be under one flag.  Consequently, there would be no need for different regions to go to war with one another.  No one would need to gain land from anyone else, because everyone would exist under the same nation.  Also, because everyone would speak the same language and would be of the same culture, there would be no other cultures to attack and go to war with.  The elimination of various cultures and nations would also take away any fear of terrorism. If everyone lived together in one giant country, there would be no need to injure other people.  We would all be together under one government, which would make everyone get along and want to keep peace with one another. this paragraph seems a little choppy -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:44 AM

Creating one giant nation in which to live would also eliminate one problem that America faces today: immigration.  The elimination of borders would allow everyone to move freely across continents.  This would ameliorate good word -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:47 AM  the constant fight between parties about what to do about the high number of immigrants coming into America.  There would no longer be the question about what to do with illegal immigrants, because the idea of immigration altogether would be eliminated.  Additionally, the new America would benefit many of the third world countries and allow them to be supported.  These old countries, which are in extreme poverty would benefit because the new nation would be morally obligated to help to develop this section of the world.  The new government would implement plans for women to become educated in these areas and distribute necessary medical supplies and attention to children.

With these reasons considered, I believe that the only thing America can do is take over the world and become the united World of America.  It would benefit current Americans and those who are going to be a part of our great country.  There's no other way I'm confused here... maybe change to "It's undeniable to say..." -Amy Kohler 1/6/10 8:22 AM  to say that we live in the most powerful and most considerate nation in the world; why not spread our kindness across our borders?  We can make a positive difference in then lives of others if we only open our hearts and open the borders that separate countries.  Great essay! -Josh Footlik 1/3/10 7:38 PM  good essay,  might want to add a little more criticism of America in the 1st paragraph to make it more clear because some people might not catch that are you are being sarcastic -Ryan Denman 1/5/10 9:50 AM
