Apartment for rent located in Central Lisbon, right next to the Tagus river in the newly hip Alcântara district, between two major touristic areas of Praça do Comércio and Belém, right next to the impressive Ponte 25 de Abril bridge, Lisbon Congress Center, and several museums. We call it "Riverside".
Its relaxed riverside location makes it the perfect accommodation for your holidays or short term rental in downtown Lisbon. The street, Rua 1º de Maio, is a very picturesque place, where the charming yellow tram passes by, and fast public transports connections takes you door-to-door to all parts of the city (Praça do Comércio, Chiado, Bairro Alto or Belém). If you intend to go to the beach, you can easily take the train in Alcântara Station and you will be in Estoril, Cascais or Sintra Village in minutes!
Although the apartment has no river view, walkers and bicycles can reach the river bank in walking distance (5 minutes). It is possible to ride or walk along the river to Tower of Belém and Jerónimos Monastery, Marina and Docks of Alcantara with lots of amusing bars, restaurants and vibrant nightlife.
You can choose a Tejo Cruise that begins at the Praça do Comércio ferry terminal and then begins a broad curve taking it away from the banks and opening up views of the city from across the river.
As opposed to Bairro Alto and Chiado, which are areas that essentially live today from its nightlife, bars, pubs, Alcântara is an alive and homely neighborhood where you can feel yourself safe and relaxed and can easily find all the conveniences like supermarkets, church, hospital, good typical restaurants, take-away, grocery stores, drugstores, ATMs, etc. Additionally, it is a secure area: the High School of Police is right next.
Our apartment its a ground floor with direct and independent entrance from the street, which allows great privacy to the guests. It was recently ( 2008) fully remodeled, in accordance with the most recent rules of comfort and safety.
Magnificent panoramic views nearby and along the river. The famous sightseeing "Carristur" tour bus drives by the house door!

'My partner and I stayed here with our elderly grandfather. Ms. Mendes showed us all enormous respect- even bringing grandpa an extra heater. The connection to public transportation is excellent and easy to use. The apartment is clean and new. I would recommend this apartment to travellers who value an accepting owner.
