I grew up in the state of West Bengal in India, partly in Durgapur and partly in Kolkata. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India and my Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia. I finished my PhD in Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia in summer 2010. Prof. Mary Lou Soffa and Prof. Kim Hazelwood were my PhD advisors. After graduation, I worked for a year at Intel Santa Clara. Recently, I joined the LSSG lab and Systems group at the University of Chicago. I am working as a postdoc with Prof. Andrew Chien.

My areas of interest include compilers and computer architecture. Specifically, I am interested in architectures, programming languages and compilers for energy-efficient exascale computing. I am also interested in dynamic binary translation, runtime/virtual execution environments, hypervisors, co-designed virtual machines, dynamic optimization and dynamic profiling. Currently, I am working on the 10x10 and Ease projects.
