Statement on the Russian Invasion of Ukraine

The Committee of the Australia and New Zealand Slavists’ Association condemns the unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. We express our support for the people of Ukraine and deplore the destruction of life, property and cultural capital caused by the war. As scholars of eastern and central Europe we declare our commitment to the values of collaboration and the honest exchange of information in the region which are currently under grave threat.
