This is my temporary solution for my cold water line from the main line to the kitchen faucet. You can see the older hot water line in the back still, and how small the feed line is. I bought all the appropriate couplers to go from my new 3/4" main to the 1/4" supply line. But they didn't fit properly. I don't know where the Hell they got these feed lines from, but they actually have an outside diameter of 3/16" and they doesn't seem to be an adapter that will fit this line anywhere on planet Earth. So what I had to do was to rip out the old feed line all the way up to the faucet, shut off valve and all. Then I just ran a supply tube (which usually goes from the shutoff valve to the faucet) all the was from the main line to the faucett. So I don't have a shutoff valve for my cold water in the kitchen right now. But like I said, it's temporary. When I redo the kitchen I'll run 1/2" feeds for both hot and cold. After I was all done with this I looked at the original T fitting they had on this section and they couldn't make it fit right either, so they filled the gap with more solder!

Initially, when we were in the home improvement store, I thought this would be a simple task of unscrewing the old faucet from the shut off valves and screwing in the new faucet. No problem, right? Except the home building didn't install any shut off valves in our home. So I had to cut the pipes, install new valves and put the whole thing back together without creating a water world in the cabinet. What fun!
