Peanut butter cookie dough balls From the Fanny Farmer Cookbook: Set the oven at 350°. Cream together 1/2 cup butter or margarine (I use Nucoa margarine since dairy doesn't agree with me) 1/2 cup peanut butter (I use unsalted Valencia natural peanut butter - nothing but nuts) Beat in 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar Stir in 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup flour (as always, I use bread flour for its higher protein) Arrange by teaspoonfuls on cooky sheets. (I line my cookie sheets with parchment paper - it makes the clean-up so easy!) Press flat with a floured spoon or mark with a floured fork. (I roll the dough into small balls, then cross hatch them with a fork that I've dipped in sugar.) Bake until firm (about 10 minutes). (I bake mine at 375° for a little longer because I like them darker and crispy.) Makes about 60. 04/18/09 my favourite cookie,my favourite cookie dough.i've been making these for like 3.5 years now and every time i do i make a big ball of the dough and wrap it in saran wrap and stick it in the fridge and then later take a huge bite and zedohmygod,so satisfying.yumzxorz.
