Just a tree
Just a tree
Winner of the Flickers Got Talent: Lone Tree competition, November 2010 *** see below This field was devoid of stock and completely covered in snow. Only the tree on the horizon and the stone wall broke the colour between snow and sky. The sun was attempting, very feebly, to break through, and it cast a pale streak through the sky towards the tree. This shot taken in colour, but it may well have been in B&W, I think. At the time it looked very beautiful; very simple and alone. Taken just outside Selside, Yorkshire Dales. **Nearby is the railway line, the famous Settle-Carlisle, and Pen-y-ghent is just to the south east, and Ingleborough to the west. ***This photo was selected by the Breathtaking Group to be on their blogspot in December **** This photo was a runner up in the December Contest in My Gear and Me Premium (one of the 9 runners up). The quality was superb, so I take this to be an honour.
Trees in the Park
Trees in the Park
This is the view from the bridge looking into the Park. The tree centre left is a cracker. This Park is open to the public and contains deer and sheep, a wonderful variety of trees and a lovely rolling landscape, with fine views in all directions. Taken by Dallam Tower Park, Milnthorpe, Cumbria
