Marching Band is Underway!

 

And it's about time, isn't it?

 

Today we announced the marching band theme for next year.  Working Title:  The Jazz Show.  It'll feature four big band hits:

 

Big Noise from Winnetka

Someone to Watch Over Me (with live jazz singer!)

La Suerte de los Tontos

Malaguena

 

We're extremely excited about it.  Watch your e-mails, as well as the links and downloads pages of this website, for more information about this year's marching season.  And don't miss the Marching Band Kickoff, on Saturday, June 2, from 9-noon in the band room!

 

Organizational Contest

 

Organizational Contest is on April 14, at Grayslake North High School.  Grayslake is located right off of Hwy. 83, about 15 minutes south of ACHS.  We will be meeting at GNHS for the performance; there will be NO bus nor any kind of transportation there from ACHS on the day of the festival.

 

AWE and percussion ensemble, there is a mandatory dress rehearsal this Wednesday, April 11, time still TBA (it depends on the rehearsal schedule for West Side Story).

 

Combined Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble perform at 1:30 pm.  Warm up is 1:00; call time is 12:45 AT GNHS.

Adv. Wind Ensemble performs at 4:30 pm.  Warm up is 4:00; call time is 3:45 AT GNHS.

Volunteer Meeting for Solo & Ensemble.  Calling all parents!  We are in need of volunteers for the IHSA Solo & Ensemble Festival on March 3, which ACHS is hosting.  This will be a logistical meeting for all parent volunteers.  We hope to see you there.

 

Thursday, February 16, 7:00 pm

 

Disney Organizational Meeting.  This meeting is mandatory for all students who will be travelling with us.  We will be discussing all of the important information that YOU need to know to have a succesful trip.

 

If you absolutely cannot attend, please talk to your director ASAP.

Solo & Ensemble Pop Donations are due today!  Please do us the favor of writing your family's name on your donation so we can keep better records.  AMPS thanks you in advance for your generosity.  It will make the Solo & Ensemble Festival Concessions run so much more smoothly.
