However, we're still here and our planners have been diligently scheduling our snow adventures for the coming ski season which, we hope, will start as early as it did last year -- two weeks BEFORE Thanksgiving!
Our Newsletter, The Tumbleweed News (link just below), contains our tentative schedule.
Desert Ski Club August 2010 Newsletter - The Tumbleweed News
We meet the first Thursday of each month at the Shilo Inn in Richland (Where are our meetings?). Social hour begins at 6:30, followed by our meeting at 7:00. All members and potential members (21 and older) are welcome. Annual membership is $25, and allows you access to all the DSC Ski trips and summer events, as well as membership in the Northwest Ski Club Council.
We are a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization that has evolved into a year around Sports and Social Activities Club for singles & couples. We exist to promote the sport of snow skiing, snow boarding, other recreational sports for each season, plus regular monthly social activities for our members who enjoy active lifestyles. Most of our trips allow minors (check with trip leaders for details). All trips are BYOB, and we provide basics like water and snacks.
We also have a discussion group that is available for the benefit and use of all locals who are interested in winter sports. Anyone can view this site; however, if you want to submit posts to the group and/or request membership in the group, you can do so by contacting the site owner from here.
DSC members are season pass holders and regular visitors to four local mountains, all within a 3 hour drive of the Tri-Cities. Check out the snow reports using the links below:
