Anoka County Arts Alliance Publishes its 4th Arts Guide and Directory

The long overdue fourth edition of the Anoka County Arts Alliance's Arts Guide and Directory has finally hit the press.  Well, not exactly. Instead of a print edition, the new arts guide and directory will be published on the web and available to the whole world via the internet. "Listings are coming in daily," says June Anderson, director of the Anoka County Arts Alliance and editor of this newslink.  "As members of the arts world in Anoka County become aware of this site and see it for themselves, they are renewing their memberships in the Arts Alliance at a record rate--and many are signing up for the first time."

According to Anderson, this ACAA website has tremendous  potential as an outreach to the community. "Not only can we list artists and writers and musicians and entertainers and groups and organizations representing the arts as we did in our first three print guide/directories, we can now maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date calender of the concerts, shows, and events presented by these individuals and organizations, along with a link to their own websites. We fully expect that www.anokacountyartsalliance.org will be the 'go-to' website for people in Anoka County wanting to connect with the arts --whether it is to join them, hire them, attend them, purchase their products, or use their services. It is the key that unlocks the door to the arts in Anoka County."

Regarding Heritage Fund Opportunities for Artists and Performers..

Event: Alive at the Library

Date: June 5, 2010 (Saturday) 10am-2pm

The Anoka County public libraries will be using some of the Arts and Cultural Heritage Funding, (money to benefits the arts that was passed by the voters in 2008) for a county-wide event, “Alive at the Library.”  This event will feature Anoka County artists and performers at all of the nine different libraries that are part of the library system, an artist and a performer at each library. Participants will be paid.

Because of its close connections and familiarity with the arts community of Anoka County, its artists and performers, Anoka County Arts Alliance has been asked to make recommendations regarding available talent. If you are interested in participating in this event, please indicate this on your membership form, if you have not already sent it in. If I already have your membership form, please respond by e-mail. Upon receipt, an application form with more details will be sent to you. The library would like to know within the next two weeks who is available so they can make their final selection and start promoting the event. If I haven’t heard from you by then, I will assume you are not interested or not available.
