Following your journey-has been inspirational to me.  I think I first met you in august 2007 when I joined Roskill Masters.

You have worked so hard and for so long put in all the training.  I remember chatting to you when you were having a 'porridge break' during your morning swim and giving me advice on my strokes.

I was on my way to swimming one morning and I heard Bernice on the radio ring easy mix 98fm and talk about you preparing for your swim and they put a link on their website- I felt proud to say "she is in my swim club".

Thank you Annie - I know you will do it the next time. I look forward to following your progress.

Take care and I look forward to seeing you back - Alice

We know this will be a big disappointment after all the training you have done, but we have great faith in you and are sure it won't be too long before you are attempting the swim again.
- Regards Alwyn and Hilda

f…..    A very valiant effort none the less. Well done Annie - Richard Lockhart

Annie, you must be so disappointed after all your training, but you were still immensely brave to even attempt it, I just can't imagine taking on such a challenge! Actually none of the Lockhart clan could imagine it! So please accept our congratulations at getting so far and your determination in preparing for the event, and that we share your disappointment that you couldn't complete it - 13 degrees would be overwhelmingly cold very quickly. - Michelle

Our club is damn proud of you. You are an inspiration to us all Annie. That godawful current was just plain bad luck. See you at swimming - Fiona

Annie, we have watched your progress with complete admiration and wonder - only you truly know how hard the slog has been.   "Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them -- a desire, a dream, a vision.”  ~ Muhammad Ali   I will always draw inspiration and energy from the determination, endurance and discipline you have demonstrated – when I’m next at a wall, I will think of you. With much love - Julie
Annie, you made a journey, physically, emotionally and geographically, the like of which many of us will never travel. Remember that life is a journey, not a destination and you will look back and think “I did that journey… and I nearly bloody got there!” - Rob
