Welcome to
The Ann Arbor Flyers
The Ann Arbor Flyers is one of the oldest aviation clubs in the country, having
been in continuous operation since its inception in October of 1940. Our membership
of nominally 75 active members is composed of a diverse
group of men and
women, ranging in age from 16-80 years and spanning the breadth of aviation experience
from beginning students to veteran pilots holding Airline Transport Pilot certificates.
We pride ourselves on setting high standards for flight safety, pilot proficiency
and proper care and maintenance of our equipment. Members of the club are equity
owners in a fleet of 4 modern well-equipped aircraft ( Piper Archer
II, two Piper Archer IIIs and a Piper Saratoga) and have access to primary and advanced
training through authorized club flight instructors. Numerous social activities,
including monthly meetings, field trips and an annual banquet are hosted by the
club to encourage member participation and fellowship.

Benefits of Membership in the Ann Arbor Flyers
Club members are equity share owners of four modern, very well equipped and maintained aircraft. All aircraft are comfortably equipped for cross-country IFR flight.
Freedom. As an aircraft owner, you have the keys to the hangar. If the schedule is open, you are free to come and go as you like, where you like. This means no daily minimum charges and out of town trips of up to two weeks in length. (Certain simple restrictions apply.) The club size is limited to 75 members to assure reasonable access to the aircraft.
As a nonprofit organization, all revenues from flying stay in our own pockets. This, combined with generous volunteer efforts by club members keeps expenses to a minimum. Sixty years of sound financial operation have proven the stability of the club.
The club structure fosters fellowship. Monthly educational meetings form the core of our social schedule. Invited speakers and club instructors present monthly programs. We pride ourselves on setting high standards for flight safety, pilot proficiency and proper care and maintenance of our equipment.
In March we have an annual banquet for members, their spouses, and honored guests and speakers.
Primary and advanced instruction is available at reduced rates from a large selection of club member instructors who are professional instructors who are not simply trying to "build time" but are honestly interested in pilot education and training.
Full insurance coverage is included for all club members - you need not purchase any additional "renters insurance".
On-Line Scheduling. Click here to access our on-line scheduling system. Non-members will be given a guest account that allows viewing the scheduler but not reserving aircraft.
