Hometown: Virginia Beach, Virginia Degree: Master in Engineering Management, Thayer School of Engineering Roy was drawn to study engineering because “it encompasses everything.” He continues, “Anything you can think of has had some sort of engineering applied to it. The problem solving skills that Thayer helps build in students have been incredibly useful in all aspects of life, not just course work.” While at Dartmouth, Roy has been engaged in a wide range of activities, including Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, the Big Green Bus, Bike and Build, Lodj Croo, and DJ-ing parties and formals across campus as DJ Enzo. Roy cites his experience on a Tucker Fellowship to Santiago, Chile, as his biggest accomplishment because, after being met with many difficulties upon his arrival, he ultimately designed a new project to great success. Next year, Roy will work for IBM in Burlington, Vt., and hopes to continue to DJ in his spare time. He chose to be photographed in front of Sylvanus Thayer's mission statement at the Thayer School of Engineering, which reads: "To prepare the most capable and faithful for the most responsible positions and the most difficult service."
