Polygamy Challenge

An on-going challenge for The Sims 2. Can work for TS3 as well, slightly modified, now that there's a polygamy/no jealousy hack.

I would appreciate it if no one tried to pass this off as their own, not that it really matters. Feel free to post it elsewhere, just give me (Igloolik or IggyLemon, whichever) credit for it.

I've been searching high and low for another challenge like this one since it came into my mind, and I'm fairly certain that this is original. I'm surprised that with the no-jealousy hacks and the Legacy Challenge, Polygamy Challenges weren't an obvious reaction.

Start with a male Sim in CAS (or, one from another family, or send him to college first, it doesn't really matter) and move him into a house on a large lot. This is important. It doesn't matter what aspiration he has or anything like that, though Family would be the obvious choice. Find him a wife (1), and a job. He and his wife must have children until a male is born. You may have more after that if you like, but I don't recommend it – your lot will be full enough as it is.

The male is the heir. When he becomes an adult (or Teen, if you have InTeen), find him two wives (2). Obviously, since the game doesn't allow you to marry more than one Sim, you'll need to download a no-jealousy hack. I just turn off jealousy for the lot using the Casual Romance Adjuster. Both of his wives must have children until each produces a male. The eldest of the males is the heir, and he must find three wives (3) who each must have children until they each have a male. If the eldest male dies before producing the correct number of male offspring, his next eldest brother may become heir, but the eldest's children DO NOT COUNT toward the final male-child count for that generation, only the children of the current heir. The challenge continues on this way until all potential heirs die before having the correct number of male children. Or until your game crashes.

RULES:

  • You may use money cheats, and you may have to toward the end, in order to keep all those Sims alive

  • No motive related hacks or cheats may be used. That's half the challenge, after all.

  • No cheats related to relationship-building. You have to find all those wives fair and square.

  • Basically no cheats that aren't in the spirit of the challenge

  • No exiting the game without saving, unless you absolutely have to. Don't you even dare keep trying to get that male the first time around! And if the house burns down, well I just hope you've been keeping track of your points.

  • All male Sims on the lot who are old enough must have jobs, except elders. Females may have jobs, but it's best if you keep them home to help with the children.

  • You may run a home business. That counts as a job for two male Sims.

  • You may not own a community lot.

  • You may not have more wives than are needed for that generation. The first Sim may only have 1 wive, the first heir may only have 2 wives, etc. If one of the wives die before producing a male, another wife MAY be found.

  • Any sims are allowed to go to college, just make sure that if it's the heir, that you move him back into the original lot.

POINTS:

+500 points for each platinum gravestone

+200 points for each wife who dies of old age

+100 points for each male born

+50 points for each female born

+10 points for marrying an NPC

+5 points for each family friend at the end of the game (friends created earlier don't count)

0 points for alien and adopted children

-5 points for each enemy of any Sims in the family at the end of the game (enemies created earlier don't count)

-50 points for each visit from the Repo man (and you really can avoid that, since I'm letting you use money cheats, this is just a penalty for forgetfulness)

-200 points for each premature death

-1000 points for each child the social worker takes away.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Most likely you will need something that allows more than 8 sims on a lot. I used the 50 sims per lot hack from 5TH LMNt.

  • An anti-jealousy hack. I'm using the Casual Romance Adjuster from TwoJeffs.

  • A computer that doesn't run slow on large lots with many Sims. I can't help you with that one, unfortunately.

  • The Sims 2. If you don't have it, what are you doing reading this?

I will post people's high scores on this page if you contact me through any means and ask that I do that. I'm willing to either put first names or screen names. Try to beat the highest score! And, if you create a story for this challenge, I will also post it here.
