Protect your sport  - join the Angling Trust

The Angling Trust is the representative body for game, coarse and sea anglers in England. We're fighting for the future of YOUR fishing, but we need YOUR support to do more. To protect your sport- for now and for the future, join your representative body today.

Anglers and fisheries have major concerns over the increasing impacts on fish stocks from a range of predators and this new site aims to provide comprehensive evidence of the level of damage that is currently taking place. To convince the government to take decisive action the Angling Trust needs data on the abundance of cormorants So now it's your turn - go to www.cormorantwatch.org and make a difference.

Update:  4,500 anglers have already recorded sightings! Keep them coming.

Welcome to the Angling Trust North West

The
Angling Trust North West is the regional branch of the Angling Trust covering Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. We work to protect and promote freshwater angling and fisheries  throughout the region  and act as the first point of contact for Angling Trust members. We also represent your interests with the Environment Agency and other relevant bodies at regional level. Our main meetings, the North West Forums,  are held quarterly. These Forums are open to all Angling Trust members and as well as providing updates on the activities of Angling Trust nationally they also provide an opportunity for members to raise and discuss items of local and regional concern.

The objects of the North West Forum are ;
  • To promote and protect the interests of fisheries, angling and individual anglers within the North West Region.
  • To provide an opportunity for A T members to meet and debate issues of common interest.
  • To provide the main communication link for members to and from the A T Freshwater Committee and  the A T Board
  • To provide and maintain effective communication and representation with the North West Region of the Environment Agency and any other appropriate body.
  • To aim to achieve adequate representation for angling and fisheries on all other appropriate regional bodies.
The Forum meetings are just the starting point for any amount of further work that goes on behind the scenes - and there is an awful lot to do. We welcome all offers of help - particularly from members with relevant knowledge, experience and skills.
