The Angling Trust North West is the regional branch of the Angling Trust covering Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. We work to protect and promote freshwater angling and fisheries throughout the region and act as the first point of contact for Angling Trust members.
We also represent your interests with the Environment Agency and other relevant bodies at regional level. Our main meetings, the North West Forums, are held quarterly. These Forums are open to all Angling Trust members and as well as providing updates on the activities of Angling Trust nationally they also provide an opportunity for members to raise and discuss items of local and regional concern.
The objects of the North West Forum are ;
- To promote and
protect the interests of fisheries, angling and individual anglers within the North
West Region.
- To provide an opportunity for A T members to meet and debate issues of common interest.
- To provide the main communication link for
members to and from the A T Freshwater Committee and
the A T Board
- To
provide and maintain effective communication and representation with the North
West Region of the Environment Agency and any other appropriate body.
- To aim to achieve adequate representation
for angling and fisheries on all other appropriate regional bodies.
The Forum meetings are just the starting point for any amount of further work that goes on behind the scenes - and there is an awful lot to do. We welcome all offers of help - particularly from members with relevant knowledge, experience and skills.
